‘18 Jetta Brings New Colors, Great Value

The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta boasts new wheels and a stylish Wolfsburg Edition to enhance the already-winning combination of power, tech, comfort and safety for a vehicle that’s as stylish as it is practical.

Under the Hood

Several engines are available in the 2018 Jetta. A 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine puts out 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine produces 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Finally, a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 210 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque.

The engines are teamed with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Comfort and Convenience

Up to five adults fit comfortably in the 2018 Jetta, and on upgraded models, drivers ride in the comfort of a six-way power-adjustable seat. The rear seat is split 60/40 to give a variety of seating and cargo carrying configurations.

An available Fender premium audio system delivers 400 watts of power and nine speakers.

Volkswagen’s MIB II infotainment system is standard equipment on all models and serves as the control center for the audio system as well as the hub for smartphones when connected to the vehicle. Through it, drivers can stream audio, use mobile apps and make hands-free calls from their phones while keeping their attention on the road. The system is worked via a 5-inch color touchscreen display.

Car Net App-Connect is available, and makes smartphone usage in the vehicle more intuitive via systems such as Apple Car Play, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Also available is a turn-by-turn navigation system with one-shot voice destination entry for ease of use.

Standard on all 2018 Jettas is Volkswagen’s post-collision braking system, which works on the premise that most collisions are actually a series of crashes, and by automatically applying the brakes upon sensing a collision, it limits the chance of secondary collisions.

Also standard are a full set of airbags, three-point seat belts and traction/stability control. Antilock disc brakes with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution stop the vehicle quickly as well.

Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert.
