2022 Taos Delivers Excitement In Compact Package

Volkswagen’s stylish and responsive compact SUV, the 2022 Taos, delivers plenty of driving fun and ample space for all those upcoming excursions.

Under the Hood

The 2022 Taos is mated to a turbocharged 1.5-liter 4 cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 184 Ib-ft of torque output.

Front-wheel drive Taos cars are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive models offer a electro-hydraulic center clutch pack that transmits as much as 50% power to rear wheels using a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Comfort and Convenience

The elegant yet practical cabin gives the 2022 Taos a welcoming, tech-savvy interior. It’s 99.9 cubic feet of cabin space offers plenty of room for your taller passengers. The cargo area provides 28.1 cubic feet of luggage space and up to 66.3 cubic feet when folding the second row of seats.

Volkswagne includes top-tier cloth for the S model, CloudTex for the SE model and leather upholstery for the SEL model.

Standard equipment on the 2022 Volkswagen Taos includes the MIB3 infotainment system, onboard Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a push-button starter and automatic LED headlights.

Safety

Taos SEL comes with the IQ Drive safety suite: forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. Active high-beam headlights and Parking Distance Control are available.

Travel Assist allows partially automated hands-on driving up to 95 mph. Activated by a button on the steering wheel, the system keeps the 2022 Taos safely in its lane and at a safe distance to the vehicle in front of it.

Volkswagen engineers designed a safety cage with front and rear crumple zones to absorb crash energy and distribute impact away from occupants in the vehicle.

In the event of a collision, the Intelligent Crash Response Systemautomatically deploys up to 18 airbags, shuts down the fuel pump, unlocks all doors and activates hazard lights.

The Automatic Post Collision System brings the Taos to a complete stop (depending on the type of collision). This system halts the vehicle after an accident to help prevent secondary collisions.
