Volkswagen's 2023 Jetta deploys a sleek design, all-purpose digital cockpit and effective safety systems for unpredictable summer weather.
The innovative display allows drivers to access high-resolution visuals like driving distance, fuel economy, navigation and phone connectivity via mounted steering wheel controls.
Users can also store four different display preferences, switch between interfaces for additional information and automatically adjust interior settings like temperature, seating and side-mirror angles.
Under the Hood
Jetta comes with a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces 158 hp and 184 Ib-ft of torque. The base model features a six-speed manual transmission and optional eight-speed automatic transmission.
It has an EPA-estimated rating of 31 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway with the eight-speed automatic transmission. The six-speed manual transmission delivers 29 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway.
Comfort and Convenience
The compact sedan provides comfortable seating for five adults with sufficient head and leg room. Starter-level amenities include a 6.5-inch touchscreen, four-speaker stereo system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, two USB ports and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Optional infotainment features include an 8-inch touchscreen, in-cabin navigation, satellite radio, wireless device charging and a nine-speaker audio stereo.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2023 Jetta a top safety rating of five out of five stars. It earned five stars in side crash tests and four stars in frontal and rollover appraisals.
