Volkswagen Taos
The 2024 Volkswagen Taos brings bold exterior design, impressive cabin space and high-tech safety technology securities.
S, SE and SEL models are equipped with VW's Advanced Digital Cockpit system. S models are fitted with an 8-inch display with two views and custom-built widgets for car status information access.
SE and SEL models are equipped with 10.25-inch configurable Digital Cockpit Pro with four views. The display cluster includes full-screen navigation, real-time driving data, phone information and driver assistance controls.
Under the Hood
A 1.5-liter engine generates 158hp and 184 Ib-ft of torque for all 2024 Taos vehicles. Front-wheel drive models mate to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
4Motion all-wheel drive models come with seven dual-clutch automatic transmissions.
Coated cylinder liners, a map-controlled cooling module and high-pressure injection system contribute to the impressive fuel economy of the 2024 Taos. Front-wheel models deliver an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. All-wheel drive Taos vehicles have an estimated rating of 24 mpg for city / 32 mpg for highway.
Four driving selections allow drivers to pick particular vehicle profiles to suit tastes and preferences.
Comfort and Convenience
Standard features include a heated-leatherette steering wheel, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and push-button start.
Higher trim amenities include driver seat with lumbar support, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats and side mirrors and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
Due to a long wheelbase, the crossover SUV has a roomy cabin space of 99.5 cubic feet. Front passengers have 40.1 inches of legroom, while rear-end occupants have 37.9 inches of legroom to provide comfortable seating for four adults.
All-wheel drive Taos models have 24.9 cubic feet of luggage capacity behind the second row. It expands to 60.2 cubic feet with backseats collapsed.
Front-wheel drive models have a storage area of 27.9 cubic feet behind second-row seats. The cargo space increases to 65.9 cubic feet with the second row folded down.
A MIB2 Composition Color unit is accessible on Taos S trims. Features include a 6.5-inch touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity and two 45-watt USB-C ports. SE and SEL models are equipped with 8-inch glass-covered MIB3 infotainment displays.
Both units offer wireless charging for compatible devices and have fast-charging USB-C ports located in the center stack and storage console.
Three speaker configurations are available for the 2024 Taos. S models have four speakers. SE trims come with six speakers, while a BeatsAudio sound system is matched to the range-topping SEL. The boombox comes with eight speakers, a 400-watt amplifier and subwoofer.
Safety
IQ Drive is a combination of passive and active safety systems available on all 2024 Taos models.
The system uses a front camera, radar and several ultrasound sensors to anticipate accidents and protect passengers. All models are fitted with six airbags including front and side airbags and side curtain airbags for outboard seating positions.
Volkswagen engineers also provide an Intelligent Crash Response that shuts off the fuel pump, unlocks doors and activates hazard lights if the car is involved in a collision.
