The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta GLI comes with a sporty exterior finish, a refreshed interior and a slew of first-time safety features.

Under The Hood
VW’s 2022 GLI is powered by a direct-injection turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The engine cranks out 228-hp and 258 Ib-ft of torque to the front wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission or optional 7-speed automatic transmission.
The sports sedan gets a patterned grille with two red accent chrome bars flanking the VW emblem. Around back, it gains a new bumper, a black honeycomb diffuser and wider dual exhaust.
Comfort & Convenience
Inside is a 10.3-inch digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient interior lighting, ventilated front seats and trunk space that can hold seven carry-on suitcases.
While the new steering wheel features VW’s latest haptic feedback touch controls and red painted trim. The MIB 3 entertainment system has been upgraded to wireless app connect and wireless charging for compatible devices.
Safety
The 2022 Jetta comes with driver-assistance technology including automatic high beams, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
New to the 2022 GLI are the travel and emergency assist features. When travel assist detects the vehicle veering off lane or getting too close to traffic ahead, it takes control of the gas pedal, brakes and steering to maintain a set distance.
Emergency assist monitors driver behavior by observing delays between the use of the accelerator and brake. Once a preset amount of time has passed with no active responses, the system takes charge of the vehicle and brings it to a safe stop.
