The Volkswagen 2023 ID.4 offers electrifying efficiency, a spacious cargo hold and advanced safety design.

ID.4 is available in five trim levels: Standard, Pro, S, Pro S and Pro S Plus.

Pro S Plus trim is the range-topping model for the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. Exclusive features include power-folding side mirrors with puddle lights, heated outboard second-row seats, a 10-speaker premium audio system and three-zone automatic climate control.

Under the Hood

Rear-wheel drive models are powered by a 201 hp electric motor mounted on the rear axle. All-wheel drive versions are fitted with twin motors—one on each axle generating 295 hp total output.

The 62 kWh lithium-ion battery pack generates electricity for standard and S trims. Pro trim uses a bigger 82 kWh battery.

The battery charge of the 2023 ID.4 cannot be fully depleted, courtesy of a unique management system. On low battery power, the system automatically switches to an auxiliary battery for longevity. It retains 77 kWh of usable capacity for the 82 kWh and 58 kWh for the 62 kWh pack.

Comfort and Convenience

Standard equipment includes an onboard 11kW  charger for quick home charging. With a Level 2 charger, the ID. 4's battery recharges between 8 to 12 hours.

For long-distance road trippers, the compact all-electric SUV also has a DC fast-charge capability of five to 10 percent battery charging in less than 30 minutes. There is 30.3 feet of cargo space behind rear seats and 64.2 cubic feet is available with the back seats folded down.

A pass-through opening between the passenger compartment and cargo area allows summer adventurers to travel with kayaks or e-bikes.

Infotainment amenities include a 12-inch touchscreen, HD radio, navigation, voice recognition, four USB ports, a seven-speaker stereo system, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

 Safety

IQ Drive is equipped on all models – a collection of proactive driver assistance systems that monitor the driving environment and keep passengers safe.

Features:

  • Full Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Front-Collision Mitigation with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Lane Departure Warning

The Insurance Institute for Highway for Safety also rated the electric crossover as “Good” in all six crash tests and named it a Top Safety Pick+. It also received an "Advanced" rating for standard headlights and a "Good" score for adaptive headlights.
