VW Vehicles Recognized For Child Passenger Safety

Volkswagen ID.4

Two Volkswagen vehicles have been recognized as top choices for child passenger seat safety.

The 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 and 2022 Tiguan were named in the Car Seat Fit Report Card by a recent study from Cars.com. The report highlighted Volkswagen for providing secure seat options for infants, toddlers and young children.

VW’s LATCH feature on ID.4 and Tiguan offer a simple system to ensure children’s safety seats are installed correctly and safely.

"Volkswagen is proud to have models acknowledged in this year's Car Seat Fit Report Card.” said Thomas Zorn, vice president at Volkswagen. “This recognition is a testament to the care taken in the research and development of our vehicles regarding the area of safety and functionality,"

Safety

Tiguan and ID.4 come with a range of standard and optional safety assist systems capable of preventing critical interventions on the road. Adaptive Cruise Control helps maintain a preset speed and distance from vehicles.

Driver Fatigue Detection monitors behavior by detecting erratic steering wheel movements and lane deviations. When detected, the system prompts the driver to take a break, and sends an additional reminder alert 15 minutes later if no break was taken.

Park Assist eases stress of locating a parking space by pinpointing a vacant space and steering the car into a parallel or right-angle direction at the press of a button.

Proactive Occupant Protection System automatically initiates protective mechanisms when a potential road hazard is imminent by tightening seat belts and rolling up windows for effective airbag deployment.

About Car Seat Fit Report

The 2022 Car Seat Fit Report Card was determined after comprehensive seat checks in 52 vehicles.

Each car seat check was carried out by certified child passenger safety technicians who installed infant, convertible and high-back booster car seats in each vehicle and evaluated how well the vehicles accommodated them.

To earn an "A" grade, a vehicle must show it has plenty of room for the car seat and child without disturbing the legroom of front occupants. The vehicle must also show the ease and simplicity of installing car seats without complications.
